tippy-toe
               by
tippy-toe, steps guide me to my stride slower than others

i proudly put on my middle school dream shoes Heelys
avoiding touching the ground with my wheels
strolling to an epiphany of comparison
so i don’t fall again for the norms now extinct in my path

glides 180° to the ground
never-ending scraped palms, bruises, and an abundance of hesitation
translate these wheels as a benchmark to move easily with everyone around me

my dream of a prom in 2020 vanishes in the mid air tippy-toe

but who cares

i finally got my hands on some paint roller Heelys
